The Houlihan's Experience

I was first introduced to Houlihan's around...geezzz...2009ish. I really can't believe it has been that long, I'm not old, you're old! Ha! I went there with two female friends of mine to have some drinks and watch football. We ended up meeting this really cute bartender named Scott who twisted our arms and made us drink all night :) Ever since then, I have been going back whenever I am in the area. Talk about loyalty, loyalty, loyalty!! LOL Honestly, they have never given me a reason to stop coming around!

So, fast forward 8 years, I thought I would stop by last night and have some good food. Why? Because I love to eat, duh! Not to mention there was a football game on. They have a beautiful bar area with the most comfy bar stools and 6 big TV's to watch sporting events. They are really good at putting the TV on channels of your choice, since they have a few they can have several different games on at one time. I can't stand when you go to a bar and they make you watch what they want to watch...like, nooo, if I wanted to be forced to watch something I would have stayed at home. But one thing I love the most about Houlihan's (besides the food) is that it never gets super loud in there. They have such a calm and laid back atmosphere there, I could stay all night. They dim the lights as well which creates a relaxed ambiance too, which is definitely needed after a long day at work. They have the cutest fire pit on the patio so at night, you can sit around it, have drinks and stay warm!

I was pretty hungry last night, so along with my normal Grey Goose and cranberry I started off with chicken and avocado egg rolls. I am a lover of everything avocado and these definitely did not disappoint! They were fried just right with the perfect ratio of chicken, avocado and cheese. They don't look the prettiest but hey, my taste buds were not concerned with looks! I definitely need the recipe for those! So Yummy!

For my entree I decided on the Korean Chicken. This chicken was the BOMB! I felt good too because I got it baked...trying to be more health conscious...ehh..ehh!! *kudos to self* This chicken was so moist but it looked so pretty I almost didn't want to cut it! It was coated in gochujang sauce (a Korean hot chili paste) which was perfect. I am not a fan of super spicy to where I can't taste my food and I am just sweating, I need flavors with my spice, and that gochujang sauce showed out in that aspect! For my sides I had charred pineapple brown rice, garlic green beans and pineapple relish. The spice from the sauce coupled so well with the pineapple! So glad my waiter recommended this!

And then my sweet teeth kicked in. (Again...yes I have multiple LOL) I went ahead and ordered another Grey Goose and Cranberry along with the apple pie and ice cream. Mmmmm mmmm! I am like a big kid with dessert. I like to watch my ice cream melt over the hot pie, make it a little soupy, eat the crust of the pie first. Hahah!! I mean the crust of the pie is the best part! It's soft, warm and sweet and then with the ice cream to give that cold balance...good Lawd! I took a couple bites and unfortunately it wasn't hot. Now, I have been to this restaurant too many times and had great food so I can't possibly hold this one thing against them! The service was great, the atmosphere is phenomenal, everyone seems to leave with a smile after being at this place.

Be sure to take advantage of their most recent offer! For every $50 in gift cards you buy you can get a $10 dining certificate!! Your friends and family will thank you and then your belly will thank you! :) If you are ever in the Dallas area, be sure you check them out! Especially when you need somewhere to go to watch the game! I have a bunch of recommendations from their menu as well, so feel free to reach out if you want to know what to order! Until next time...Stay full my friends!

Love,

Meek
